Mother Nature's Fireworks

So last night I was on my friend's roof deck and I kept seeing flashes but it wasn't quiet dark yet and too early for fireworks.  I finally realize it was lightning off in the distance.

So I keep talking about it and everyone is making fun of me saying oh it's lightning on the 4th of July thinking I'm just seeing fireworks and I'm some crazy dumb blonde!  Well not this time!  It WAS lightning and I got some shots of it - it's pretty amazing if you ask me.
